What is bullying



Bullying is defined as aggressive behavior among school aged children that are real or have power imbalance. The behavior is a repetition over time and it includes actions such as making threats, attacking someone physically or verbally, spreading rumors and exclude someone from group on purpose It is directed towards a less powerful person or group that is intended to cause harm, fear or distress.

Effects of bullying 

 

Some people think bullying as part of growing up and an opportunity to fight your own battles an stand up for yourself. Those who are not strong and brave will crumble and end up feeling lonely, happy and scared. It can have long –term physical and psychological consequences and some will withdraw from the family and school activities and will need to be left alone. It can results in the following shyness, stomachaches, headaches, panic attacks, not being to sleep, too much sleeping, always tired and have nightmares.

It can further because stress and anxiety and harassment can make more difficult for teenagers to concentrate on learning. It might attract concentration and decrease the ability to focus and will ultimately affect ability to remember. The kids who are bullied will feel embarrassed, shames n battered, if pain not relieved bullying can lead to suicide or violent behavior. The other effects of student who are bullied will have negative effect such as depression, health problems, and poor grades.

The bullies can start alcohol and drugs abuse in adolescence adults. The can also be involve in sexual activity and become victim to child sexual abuses and transmitted disease. Kids are engage in fights, some end up as school drop’s-out .Normally bullies have low self –esteem and have need to control others. It further says some of the bullies do it to have attention or to make people afraid for them. Most of the victims are scared to report this case to school authorities and parents, they feel shame or retaliation for reporting and protection from the adults.
