Integrity is forever

What is integrity?

  • Integrity can be defined as the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles and moral uprightness.  It’s a choice to uphold oneself to consistently moral and ethical standards.
  •  It is regarded by many people as the honesty and d truthfulness or accuracy of ones actions. This is the Latin word and it means whole or complete and in the context integrity is the inner sense of wholeness and is derived from honesty and consistency of character.
  • Integrity doing the right thing at all times and in all situations whether or not anyone is watching. To build integrity it takes years but to lose it in a blink of an eye. Never allows yourself to do anything that could damage your integrity.
  • We live in the world where integrity is not talked much about it. We can say we live in the world where “the ends justify the means” it’s a school of thought for many. The example is the sales person promises to deliver but they never do and CEO’s lie about their projects earning to win the support of the board of directors not to fire them. People are dishonesty and see themselves as having the good reason to justify their lack of integrity.
  • In some people to gain power easily they just cut corners without constraints of morality. To them dishonesty provide instant gratification in a moment but it will never last. It says people are not simple as doors and the people who possess integrity have something solid inside. The message is that inside and outside in such doors are connected and whole, its solid indicates integrity, soundness and wholeness.
  • The other thing that put integrity in danger is perception is reality, meaning what matter is not inside but outside.Integrity can be learned and practiced at very young age. It can also be learned from the parents, family members who have it and children will inherit them. We can talk about people such as Bill Gates who believe that people should do the right thing and results will follow.
