Asthma treatment and control



Asthma is long term disease that cannot be cured but we the main aim are to control it.To control it the following must happen

  • ·         Reduced your need for quick relief medicines
  • ·         Help to maintain good lung function
  • ·         Prevent asthma attacks that could result in an emergency room visit or hospital stay.
  • ·         Prevent chronic and troubles symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath.

Asthma can be control by partnering with your doctor to manage your asthma or your child’s asthma. It is advisable for children age 10 and older who are able should take an active role in their asthma care. The asthma active role control should involve the following

  • ·         Working with your doctor to treat other conditions that can interfere with asthma management
  • ·         Avoiding things that worsen your asthma and get prescription from your doctor about medicines that can keep you active.
  • ·         Work closely with your doctor and other health care providers to create and follow asthma action plan.

The asthma medications can save life and to allow you to live active in spite of your asthma and we have to treat asthma. The anti-inflammatory drugs inhaled steroids are the most important treatment for people with asthma. It prevents asthma attacks and work by reducing swelling and mucus production in the airways. Short bronchodilator inhalers are often called inhalers and can be used to quickly to relieve the cough, wheeze, chest tightness and shortness breath caused by asthma. It can be used before exercise for people with induced asthma and it should not be used on daily in treatment of asthma. Check with your doctor to see whether a spacer or holding chamber should be used with the inhaler you have.

You should know things that can set off or worsen your asthma symptoms and you can take steps to control them. If animals are worsening your asthma keep them away out of your home or bedroom.Don't try to avoid physical activities rather talk to your doctor because is important part of a healthy lifestyle.
Cromolyn is taken using a device called nebulizer as your breath the nebulizer sends a fine mist of medication to your lungs.
Omalizumab is given as shot injection one or two times a months and it will help in prevention of your body from reacting to asthma attacks such as pollen and dust mites. 

Be effects and way to reduce warned that long term medicines can have side effects is better to talk to your doctor about these side effects and ways to reduced them. All people with asthma need quick relief medicines to help relieve asthma symptoms that may flare up. You can record your asthma and keep records of your symptoms check your peak flow number using peak flow meter and get regular asthma checkups.
Pregnant women who have asthma need to control the disease to ensure a good supply of oxygen to their babies. Check it often and adjust treatment as needed.
